Dawda Jawara

Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara, GCMG (May 16, 1924 August 27, 2019) was an Gambian politician. He was the first leader of the Gambia, serving first as Prime Minister from 1962 to 1970. Then, he served as President from 1970 to 1994.[1]

Jawara died on August 27, 2019 in Bakau, The Gambia at the age of 95.[2]
