"Closer" is the third single off of American DJs The Chainsmokers' second extended play Collage. The song was released on July 29, 2016. The song also features American singer Halsey.

The song was able to make it to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, Adult Top 40, Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, Mainstream Top 40, #2 on the Dance Club Songs and Rhythmic, #8 on the Adult Contemporary, and #43 on the Latin Airplay.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] It was also certified 15× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).[9] At the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, it was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance but lost to "Stressed Out" by Twenty One Pilots.[10]

The song is about a couple who hook back up after four years of being apart. It was inspired by the 2004 Blink-182 song "I Miss You".[11]

A music video for the song was released. It was directed by Dano Cerny. In the video, Andrew Taggart and Halsey are at a party and notice each other from across the room. They end up making out at the party and get intimate in a room. Flashbacks to their relationship and the ending to it are shown. Back at the party, Halsey leaves and Taggart chases after them.[12]
