Chito Gascon
José Luis Martín C. Gascón (Spanish: [xoˈse lwiz marˈtiŋ ɡasˈkon]) also known as Chito Gascon (Spanish: [ˈt͡ʃito ɣasˈkon]) (26 May 1964 – 9 October 2021) was a Filipino lawyer, politician and human-rights activist. He was born in Manila, Philippines. In 2015, he was nominated by President Benigno Aquino III as the Chair of the Commission on Human Rights of the Philippines.

Gascon died on 9 October 2021 at a hospital in Manila from COVID-19, aged 57.[1]
