Cheick Tioté

Cheick Ismaël Tioté (French pronunciation: [ʃɛik ismaɛl tjote]; 21 June 1986 – 5 June 2017) was an Ivorian footballer. He played as a defensive midfielder. He played in Europe for Dutch team FC Twente and English club Newcastle United before moving to China to represent Beijing Enterprises. He won the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with the Ivory Coast national team.

On 5 June 2017, Tioté died in Beijing, China after suffering from cardiac arrest in training, aged 30.[3][4][5]
