Charlie Dent

Charles Wieder Dent[1] (born May 24, 1960) is an American politician. He was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives for Pennsylvania's 15th congressional district from 2005 to 2018. From 1991 to 2004, he was in the Pennsylvania General Assembly.

Dent was on the House Committee on Appropriations. He had chaired the House Ethics Committee before.

In September 2017, Dent announced that he would retire from Congress and not run for re-election to another term in 2018.[2] In April 2018, Dent announced that he would retire in May 2018, not finishing out the rest of his term.[3][4] He resigned on May 12, 2018, leaving the seat empty until Susan Wild won the special election to replace him.

In August 2020, Dent announced his support for Joe Biden, the Democratic nominee for the 2020 presidential election.[5]
