Bob Welch (baseball)

Robert Lynn "Bob" Welch (November 3, 1956 June 9, 2014) was an American professional baseball starting pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Dodgers from 1978 until 1987 and Oakland Athletics from 1988 until 1994. He was a two time MLB All-Star. In 1990, he won the American League Cy Young Award as the league's best pitcher.

Welch was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in California.

Welch died after an accidental fall on June 9, 2014 in Seal Beach, California, aged 57.[1][2][3]
