Alfred J. Lotka
Alfred James Lotka (2nd Mrch 1880-5th December 1949) was an Austrian-American chemist and mathematician. Today, he is seen as one of the founders of mathematical demography. Lotka parents were American. Lotka studied chemistry in Lemberg (today called Lvov, Ukraine). Today, he is known as one of the author of the predator-prey equations. Today, these equations are still used for many models of population dynamics in ecology.
