A Place in the Sun is a 1951 American romantic drama movie directed by George Stevens and based on the 1925 novel An American Tragedy by Theodore Dreiser and the 1926 play of the same name of the novel. It stars Montgomery Clift, Herbert Heyes, Elizabeth Taylor, Shelley Winters, Anne Revere, Raymond Burr and was distributed by Paramount Pictures. It was nominated for 9 Oscars and won 6 Academy Awards in 1952.
