Yishui County (simplified Chinese: 沂水县; traditional Chinese: 沂水縣; pinyin: Yíshuǐ Xiàn) is a county of south-central Shandong province, People's Republic of China, Located in the central and southern region of Shandong, in the hinterland of Yimeng Mountain, situated in the upper reaches of the Yi River and Shu River. It borders Juxian County to the east, Yiyuan and Mengyin to the west, Yinan to the south, and Anqiu and Linqu to the north.Yishui County is a low mountain and hilly area, with the western and northern regions being low mountainous areas; The eastern and northeastern regions are hilly; The central and southern regions are plains, belonging to a warm temperate monsoon climate with distinct seasonal changes.There are many herbaceous plants, with woody plants mainly including black locust, pine, oak, etc.Herbal plants mainly including yellow backed grass, knot grass, thyme, etc. It is the northernmost county-level division of the prefecture-level city of Linyi.
Yishui County has a long history, with primitive social relics scattered throughout the area.The Nanwa Cave site in the late Paleolithic period unearthed stone tools and deer antler fossils.Fine stone tools were discovered at 21 locations including the top of the dry cave; 35 Neolithic sites, including Guziding and Fengtai, have unearthed stone, bone, and pottery from the Dawenkou and Longshan cultures. In these sites, relics from the Xia and Shang dynasties were also unearthed.There are 43 open scenic spots above 2A level, including 1 5A level and 5 4A level.
The population was 1,115,927 in 1999.[3]
The permanent population in 2028 is 1.004 million.
