The Listening is an American rock band originally hailing from Washington and currently based in Franklin, Tennessee. During the years 2004-2006, the group embarked on extensive tours throughout North America and Europe. However, the band experienced a period of relative inactivity in the subsequent years.

The band resurfaced in the middle of 2008, announcing the forthcoming release of a new EP by the end of that year. Following their hiatus, Gabriel Wilson had become a worship leader and a prominent figure in the music program at Bethel Church in Redding, California, while Josiah and Nolan have remained in Tennessee. Jason now resides in Folsom, California. Despite geographical separation, the members of The Listening continue to collaborate by exchanging musical ideas and instrument tracks online.

They are currently working on a new LP titled "LMNOP," although a specific release date has yet to be determined.
