Schleizer Kleinbahn route in 2006
- 1895 – The New Haven and Hartford Railroad begins the first regular passenger service in the United States powered by electricity.
- 1918 – The Soviet government publishes a decree nationalizing all major Russian railways.
- 1930 – The Schleizer Kleinbahn (pictured) opens for traffic using electric traction on its line between Schleiz and Saalburg in Thuringia.
