Origin
The Mir surname, originating from medieval Persia, a Kashmiri Muslim surname. Its roots can be traced back to the migration of individuals from Persia to Kashmir in 14th century, accompanying Mir Syed Ali Hamadani during the rule of Shahmir dynasty in Kashmir. These members were devoted disciples of Sayyid Ali Hamadani and were Persian Artisan contributing to the religious fabric and Persianization of Kashmir. [2]
